For all of my American readers: Happy 4th of July!

Tomorrow there will be another collective noun posting. There’s just something so odd about collective noun phrases. I mean, who decides what’s an army or a ghosting or whatever the term may be? How did things gather the particular descriptives that are used for them? Thoughts?
