    365 Grateful: Michi-chan

    Clean work desk.  Yes, those are colour-coded and size-ordered stacks of stickies on the right side of the image. Tonight, I am grateful for Michi-chan, a student of mine from Japan.  I taught her English a year and a half ago and she is possibly the cutest kid ever.  She’s bubbly, athletic, smart, and sweet all at once.  Today, we match.  I had a little argument with a set of stairs and the stairs once, so my left knee is in rough shape.  Unfortunately for Michi-chan, this makes us twinsies.  She’s been out of soccer for most of the season because of a left-knee injury.     Today, I am grateful for TunnelBear, a program that let’s me pretend I live in England so I can watch all my British shows then second they show up online and not have to dig around online through every website that could possibly carry them, but most likely carries annoying adds, pop ups, and surveys as well.  Booyah, TunnelBear!  Booyah!

    365 Grateful: Dad

    Okay, so this is another slightly sappy one.  Yesterday was my father’s birthday, but we celebrated it today.  He is now 61 and still one of the most brilliant people I have ever met.  He is kind, funny, smart.  He is supportive, knowledgeable, and loving.  He is nostalgic, goofy, and really rather a teddy bear. I call him “D” and he calls me “B”.  Neither has anything to do with our names, the letters we call each other have to do with nicknames from my childhood.  I’ve always been a daddy’s girl and I always will be.  He taught me about superheroes, faith, and being good with who I am,…
