    Facebook Post that Bothered Me

    My uncle posted this on Facebook and it bothered me. Here is the image and my response. What do you guys think, readers-mine? The issue I have with that statement is that America has never had one language. We are a landmass that was settled by Native Americans with their many languages first, then we had Vikings, English, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, and French who all settled here before our nation was one nation. Then those people brought in African slaves with all of their many languages.     365 Grateful: Dad

    Okay, so this is another slightly sappy one.  Yesterday was my father’s birthday, but we celebrated it today.  He is now 61 and still one of the most brilliant people I have ever met.  He is kind, funny, smart.  He is supportive, knowledgeable, and loving.  He is nostalgic, goofy, and really rather a teddy bear. I call him “D” and he calls me “B”.  Neither has anything to do with our names, the letters we call each other have to do with nicknames from my childhood.  I’ve always been a daddy’s girl and I always will be.  He taught me about superheroes, faith, and being good with who I am,…

    365 Grateful

    I like the idea of this project, so I’m going to give it a try. 1 picture or comment a day that I am grateful for.  I figure that this will help me be positive even if I have a rough day or week.  So, why not?  Anyone else want to join me in giving this a try?  You’re welcome to do so.  Let me know in the comments section.
