    Iron Kissed is the third book in The Mercedes Thompson Series. The undercurrent emotionally for this one is that Mercy is at a crossroads with the men in her life.  She needs to choose, but she feels trapped because picking Adam will mean losing Samuel and picking Samuel will mean losing Adam.  However, if she doesn’t give Adam an answer one way or the other she is weakening his pack and causing all sorts of problems for him and her friends.     Blood Bound by Patricia Briggs ****1/2

    Blood Bound is the second of the Mercedes Thompson Series.  It’s one of my favourites because I like how complicated the plot is.  I like all the little subplots between the characters and how all of the action helps them develop emotionally.  Briggs does a great job making everything a little bit of crazy and a whole lot of fun. Because of her magical resistance Stefan asks Mercy to come along as a coyote and help deliver a message to a visiting vampire who has not stopped in to pay the proper respect to Marsilia, Stefan’s Mistress.  Stefan (a.k.a.     Moon Called is the first installment of the The Mercedes Thompson Series by Patricia Briggs.  This series is an interesting mix of Native American and European folklore and fairytales set in the modern age.  This series covers topics like foster care, who an adopted kid’s parents are, gay rights, faith in God, racism, identity, hate crimes, kinds of love, murder, rape, self-loathing, child abuse, the death penalty, and when something is justifiable and when something is not justifiable all in an Urban Fantasy package.  The amazing thing is that Briggs manages to do this through her characters, not Other than who the series is about, I have a soft spot…
