Apologies, readers-mine. I have been remiss. As you have no doubt guessed, I have been a busy soul. Since I last wrote on here, there have been: three deaths, two weddings, a new business started, a college application season nearly completed, an old friend has become a newly minted inner-circle soul, and a bunch of poetry has been published. Thoughts on the Term “THOT”
A former student posted a meme with the term "THOT" on it and it made me cringe. I ended up talking to the student about why it bothers me. I know people are going to come at me for saying I'm a feminist (mainly because they have the wrong idea about what that means), but I am. I am also against discrimination based on religion, race, class, age, sexual orientation, and physical abilities. The Thing About Being a Writer…
People often ask me when I “became” a writer, like I woke up one morning and went “Aha! I am a writer now!” or had some life-altering moment that made me go, “I shall now begin to write stories!” I don’t know if that’s how it works for some people, but I never had a eureka moment like that.
