Same as you- it's hard to predict. It could be anything. But for me, it's more stories about other people than it is things I see. For example, I remember someone at the pool club telling a story about a kid she knew, and that story made it into something I wrote. And I remember someone I worked with at an internship talking about she and her boyfriend once traveled by train from Boston to Montana for Christmas, and I got a short story out of that. Where is that manhole in Newton, by the way?

It's right on Comm Ave. It's by where Newton and Chestnut Hill come together on Comm Ave. As I think about it, I think it might be on the Chestnut Hill side of the line, not the Newton side, but I never have been really good with the dividing line for that.
