Apparently I set this for the wrong date

So, I wanted this blog to be published on April 1st.  I set the timer to publish is May 1st.  I am officially a dunce.  When I read Neil Gaiman’s blog today I was a like, “Oh yeah, I should double check to make sure my entry got published on that.  Don’t remember seeing it even though I wrote it months ago so that I could make sure it was published on time.”  Sure enough, it wasn’t.  This one is purely informational and has nothing to do with writing, but everything to do with being someone who cares about this topic.

March is Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month in the U.S.  Colleges have programs like Take Back the Night in March typically.  It’s an important program.  Check it out and donate/buy gear if you can.

RAINN, the Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network – http://www.rainn.org, is another program that helps deal with the aftermath of Sexual Assault.  They have a great helpline, the National Sexual Assault Helpline, 1.800.656.HOPE.  They have a list of the all of the Rape Crisis/Trauma centers if you need help: http://centers.rainn.org/  It’s a great resource for men and women to find something nearby.  You can donate directly at donate.rainn.org

The proceeds from Neil Gaiman’s Blueberry Girl go to RAINN so go and buy it.  Direct from Neil himself: “Your purchase of Blueberry Girl still supports RAINN too. And if you donate over $250, RAINN will send you a get a free signed poster from Neverwear.net, while stocks last.”  Here is a beautiful video of the book that always makes me smile:
