A couple of things, dear readers… November has snuck up on me this year. Normally, I’m doing NaNoWriMo at this point. I haven’t missed one since college. However, I don’t know that I’ll do NaNo this year. I think taking my focus off of what I’m doing to write 50,000 words (which turns into whole other books I need to finish and edit) is really doing myself a disservice this year. The Fiction Brigade
So, today we have a ToP first, readers mine. An interview. (Cue the dramatic, news-type music.) A long-time friend of mine, Sabrina Ricci, has started a project that I find very interesting. It’s called The Fiction Brigadeand I think she and her co-editor have some interesting ideas. Sabrina and Bethany focus on flash fiction and even go so far as to have an interactive Twitter Story every week. I have sent around messages to various writing groups and friends of mine who write. My birthday presents
So, you know you’re a writer when: your friend gives you a writing lock-in for your birthday and your brother gives you a book titled, The Dictionary of Disagreeable English: A Curmudgeon’s Compendium of Excruciatingly Correct Grammar. However nerdy they may seem, I LOVE those gifts. The lock-in was a delight (even though I was an idiot and left my power chord over an hour away in my apartment so my battery died part way through the day and I ended up writing everything up by hand).
